Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Step 2: In saucepan, heat water cornstarch and brown sugar. Cook until bubbly then cook 2 minutes more stirring constantly so it doesn't burn
Step 3: Remove from the heat then mix in vanilla and 1/4 cup butter. Pour into a buttered 9x13 in metal cake pan (I am afraid of pouring into glass)
Step 4: Now sift dry ingredients of biscuit portion. Cut in butter, then mix in milk. Fold in apples (batter will be thick)
Step 5: Drop by tablespoons over the sugar mixture
Step 6: Combine topping mixture and sprinkle over the top
Step 7: Bake 50 minutes in 350 degree oven (watch so they don't get to done, check at 20 minutes)
