  • 1/2 cup leeks (white and pale green parts only, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 cup carrot, cut into ½-inch dice
  • 1/2 cup celery root (cut into ½-inch dice)
  • 1 tablespoon marjoram, finely chopped (fresh)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups dried split green peas (rinsed and drained)
  • 5 cups chicken stock
  • 1 pound potatoes ( yukon gold potatoes, cut into 1-inch dice)
  • 8 ounces hot dogs (cut into 1-inch slices)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In stock pot, brown bacon and onions

  • Step 2: Add rest of veggies. Season

  • Step 3: Add broth, split peas; cook 20 minutes on simmer

  • Step 4: Add potatoes; cook 20 minutes, or until split peas dissolve

  • Step 5: You may need to add water if to thick

  • Step 6: Add hot dogs and heat up

  • Step 7: Season
