  • 8 ounces bacon
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 cans (60 ounces) pork and beans (15 ounces each,do not drain)
  • 2 teaspoons celery seed
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut bacon into small pieces and fry in Dutch oven.

  • Step 2: Just before bacon is done add chopped onion ,bell pepper and cook until onion is transparent.

  • Step 3: Add beans, celery seed and brown sugar. Bring to simmer and let cook, uncovered, for 1 hour.
