Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 2 to 3 tablespoon butter (may need more)
  • 2 pounds beef sirloin steak
  • 1 cup mushrooms, quartered (I use more)
  • 1 can (10 ounce) beef consomme
  • 1 tablespoon worchestershire sauce ( or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • SAUCE
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sour cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Prepare steak, cut into 2 1/2 inch strips 1 inch wide, trimming away all fat.

  • Step 2: In large frying pan over medium heat saute onions until translucent. Remove from pan set aside

  • Step 3: Sear meat turning constantly 4 - 5 minutes (if your pan is not large enough you may have to do this in batches) Add mushrooms stir occasionally for about 3 - 4 minutes. Add salt and pepper

  • Step 4: Remove from heat. Stir the onions back in. Add consomme and Worcestershire sauce. Heat pan to boiling.

  • Step 5: Make a smooth paste of flour and the water stir until thickened. Stir in sour cream until heated through. Serve over noodles.
