Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: In a bowl mix together all the ingredients except for the cheese and chiles. In a 2 quart casserole layer the cornmeal mixture with the chiles.
Step 3: Top with the cheese.
Step 4: Bake for one hour or until set.
Step 5: If desired add 1 cup sour cream and 1 (2 ounce) jar of chopped pimentos to the mixture before putting it in the casserole dish. Also good if instead of mixing the sour cream in with everything -- just pass sour cream and salsa with the casserole.
