  • 50 grams unsalted butter
  • 1 kilogram pears (4 large rip pears, halved and cored specified)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • Cream or ice cream to serve

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter in a large non-stick frying pan over a medium to high heat until bubbling and then add pears, cut side down and cook for about 3 minutes or until light golden underneath and then turn pears over and sprinkle with cinnamon and pour over the maple syrup.

  • Step 2: Bring to a boil and gently boil for about 3 to 5 minutes or until pears are tender.

  • Step 3: Spoon the syrup over the pears and serve with cream and or ice cream.
