  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 cups icing sugar, sifted
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup table cream
  • 1/4 cup sherry
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup semi -sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 teaspoons sherry

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F

  • Step 2: Grease a 15x10x1 inch baking pan and set aside

  • Step 3: In a large saucepan, melt the 1 cup butter and the unsweetened chocolate over low heat.

  • Step 4: Remove from heat and stir in the eggs, sugar, and vanilla till combined

  • Step 5: Stir in flour

  • Step 6: Spread mixture in prepared pan and bake for 25 min. Let cool

  • Step 7: Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine powdered sugar and the 1/2 cup butter. Beat on low speed till combined

  • Step 8: Gradually add the cream, and the 1/4 cup sherry, mixing well.

  • Step 9: Stir in nuts

  • Step 10: Spread over crust and chill until firm

  • Step 11: In a small saucepan, melt chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons butter. Stir in the remaining sherry till smooth.

  • Step 12: Drizzle chocolate mixture over chilled bars and chill till set, but not firm

  • Step 13: Score bars with a knife to outline bars and chill till firm (this will make cutting easier)

  • Step 14: Cut into bars
