The ingredients are:
  • 1 tablespoon tea leaves ( green tea leaves, preferably gunpowder)
  • Sage (1 large handful of fresh)
  • 2 cups water, boiling
  • 1/4 cup sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Add the tea leaves and another 1/4 cup boiling water. Swirl the pot to wash and rinse the leaves, and discard the water.

  • Step 2: Add the sage and the sugar, and fill the pot with the 2 cups boiling water.

  • Step 3: Leave the tea to steep for five minutes or longer; or, if your teapot is stovetop safe, you can bring the tea back to a simmer over medium heat.

  • Step 4: Gently stir the tea, pour into small tea glasses and serve.
