How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.

  • Step 2: In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of the chocolate pieces over low heat until melted, stirring constantly.

  • Step 3: In a large mixing bowl beat butter with mixer on medium speed 30 seconds.

  • Step 4: Beat in sugar until fluffy. Beat in melted chocolate, eggs, vanilla, and mint flavoring.

  • Step 5: Gradually beat in the flour mixture and remaining chocolate pieces.

  • Step 6: Wrap dough in plastic wrap.

  • Step 7: Freeze for 30 minutes or until firm enough to shape into balls.

  • Step 8: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 9: Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll balls in powdered sugar.

  • Step 10: Place balls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

  • Step 11: Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until tops are crackled.

  • Step 12: Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet.

  • Step 13: Transfer to wire racks; cool.
