Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons lemon peel, finely shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups flour
  • Glaze
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375F

  • Step 2: In a large bowl, beat butter till fluffy

  • Step 3: Beat in sugar, lemon peel, baking powder, baking soda and salt

  • Step 4: Beat in egg, sour cream and lemon juice

  • Step 5: Beat in as much flour as you can, then mix the rest in with a spoon

  • Step 6: Drop by slightly rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet, 3 inches apart

  • Step 7: Bake about 8 minutes, or until tops are firm

  • Step 8: Transfer cookies to a wire rack

  • Step 9: To make glaze, combine all ingredients in a small bowl, stirring till sugar is disolved

  • Step 10: Brush cookies with glaze. Sprinkle with coarse sugar and chopped yellow gumdrops

  • Step 11: Let cookies cool
