Step 1: Preheat oven to 375F
Step 2: In a large bowl, beat butter till fluffy
Step 3: Beat in sugar, lemon peel, baking powder, baking soda and salt
Step 4: Beat in egg, sour cream and lemon juice
Step 5: Beat in as much flour as you can, then mix the rest in with a spoon
Step 6: Drop by slightly rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet, 3 inches apart
Step 7: Bake about 8 minutes, or until tops are firm
Step 8: Transfer cookies to a wire rack
Step 9: To make glaze, combine all ingredients in a small bowl, stirring till sugar is disolved
Step 10: Brush cookies with glaze. Sprinkle with coarse sugar and chopped yellow gumdrops
Step 11: Let cookies cool
