  • 1/3 cup green onions, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed
  • 1/8 teaspoon saffron
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 158 grams dry rice (raw, 1 cup)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest (left in strip)
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup almonds, flaked (toasted)
  • 1/3 cup olives (green stuffed,sliced)
  • 1/4 cup peas, frozen

How to Make

  • Step 1: Add saffron to 2 tablespoons water to soak just a pinch of threads

  • Step 2: Saute green onions in butter until tender add garlic

  • Step 3: Add rice

  • Step 4: Add broth

  • Step 5: Add herbs and saffron

  • Step 6: Cover rice and simmer for 20 minutes

  • Step 7: Take out lemon peel

  • Step 8: Mix in peas olives and almonds
