  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cayenne pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, crushed
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil (or olive oil)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Use a food processor or a sharp knife to slice cucumbers and onion. Put cucumber in a large bowl, sprinkle with salt. Toss well, and set aside for 15 minutes.

  • Step 2: Drain cucumber thoroughly and discard all liquid. Add the onion, garlic, sugar, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, sesame seeds, and sesame or olive oil.

  • Step 3: Toss well, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
