Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 bag (1 pound) split green peas
  • 2 cups green peas (frozen)
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 pound pork tenderloin (diced)
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 4 (8 grams) chicken bouillon cubes (broth cubes)
  • Grated edam or gouda cheese, for garnish

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a crock pot, mix water, split green peas, carrots, onions, pork tenderloin, curry powder, black pepper and chicken cubes.

  • Step 2: Cover and cook on high for 3 hours.

  • Step 3: Mash peas against the side of the pot to thicken soup.

  • Step 4: Cook on low 3 more hours, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 5: Stir in frozen green peas, and simmer 8-10 more minutes.

  • Step 6: Serve with sprinkled edam or gouda cheese on top.
