Step 1: Combine soy sauce, vodka, garlic, sugar, ginger, sesame oil, and green onion in a large bowl.
Step 2: Pierce chicken with a sharp knife, a few times on each side of each piece.

Step 4: Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Step 5: Cut onion into quarters, cut each quarter in half.
Step 6: Place Chicken and onion in a single layer in a large, greased baking dish.
Step 7: Bake for 15 minutes.
Step 8: Turn chicken pieces over, brushing with marinade, and bake 15 minutes longer.
Step 9: Reduce heat to 375 degrees, and bake for 30 minutes longer, brushing with remaining marinade every 10 minutes.
Step 10: Serve over rice.
