  • 3 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup vodka (orange vodka)
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ginger root (fresh, finely grated)
  • 1 green onion, finely sliced
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 small white onion
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine soy sauce, vodka, garlic, sugar, ginger, sesame oil, and green onion in a large bowl.

  • Step 2: Pierce chicken with a sharp knife, a few times on each side of each piece.

  • Step 3: Marinate chicken in prepared mixture for 2 hours at room temperature, turning pieces often.

  • Step 4: Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  • Step 5: Cut onion into quarters, cut each quarter in half.

  • Step 6: Place Chicken and onion in a single layer in a large, greased baking dish.

  • Step 7: Bake for 15 minutes.

  • Step 8: Turn chicken pieces over, brushing with marinade, and bake 15 minutes longer.

  • Step 9: Reduce heat to 375 degrees, and bake for 30 minutes longer, brushing with remaining marinade every 10 minutes.

  • Step 10: Serve over rice.
