Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 loaf (470 grams) French bread (or 1 loaf Italian bread)
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons tarragon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1/2 pound salami (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 pound mortadella (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 pound provolone cheese (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red pepper (small pepper, cut in thin strips)
  • 1 green pepper (small pepper, cut in thin strips)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut bread in half, and scoop out center of bottom half.

  • Step 2: Place lettuce in bottom half of bread.

  • Step 3: Combine vinegar, oil, capers and seasoning. Sprinkle half over lettuce.

  • Step 4: Arrange meats and cheese over lettuce, top with peppers and sprinkle remaining dressing over peppers.

  • Step 5: Cover with top half of bread.

  • Step 6: To Serve: Cut loaf into thick slices.
