The ingredients are:
  • 1 ounce bacon slice (hickory-smoked)
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 package (16 ounce) carrots, baby (fresh)
  • 3/4 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives (fresh)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook bacon slice in a nonstick skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet; crumble, and set aside. Add onion to bacon drippings in skillet; saute 3 minutes. Add carrots, cider, brown sugar, and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, and cook 10 minutes or until carrots are tender (do not drain).

  • Step 2: Place carrot mixture in a large bowl. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon and chives. Serving size is 3/4 cups.
