Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 bunches basil, chopped
  • 2.70 pounds Roma tomatoes (20 tomatoes, peeled, seeded, chopped)
  • 1/4 cup vodka
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 16 ounces cooked penne pasta
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Parmesan
  • Basil, garnish

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put oil and butter in pan and sauté‚ onions, garlic and mushrooms for 5 minutes.

  • Step 2: Add tomatoes, basil, vodka, pepper flakes, salt and pepper.

  • Step 3: Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Step 4: Stir in cream.

  • Step 5: Put in processor and pulse until creamy.

  • Step 6: Serve over penne with Parmesan cheese.
