Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef sirloin (boneless sirloin or other good beef)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (toasted)
  • 1 to 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1/2 tablespoon grated ginger root (fresh ginger)
  • 3 to 4 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dry sherry (or sake)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut the beef in thin slices.

  • Step 2: Mix all marinade ingredients together, add also the sesame seeds, and to this add the beef.

  • Step 3: Leave to marinate at least 30 minutes, overnight is preferred.

  • Step 4: Thread the meat onto skewers, grill or barbecue a few minutes on each side, using the remaining marinade for basting.
