  • 1 cup grits
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: Bring milk to a boil

  • Step 2: Add 1/4 cup butter and gruyere cheese

  • Step 3: When melted add grits and seasonings

  • Step 4: Whisking as you add

  • Step 5: Cook until thickened

  • Step 6: Stirring constantly

  • Step 7: Take off heat beat hard 5 minutes (use mixer here)

  • Step 8: Pour into buttered pam sprayed casserole 3 quart

  • Step 9: Cool

  • Step 10: Pour melted butter over top and sprinkle on parmesan cheese

  • Step 11: Bake 30 minutes at 400 minutes
