Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 316 grams dry rice (dry 2 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 cup onion (sliced thinly)
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes (peeled and chopped)
  • 2 1/2 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Fry rice in oil with onion on low heat for about 10 minutes with a wooden spoon until it makes a swishing sound (I'm guessing your going to hear this 10 minutes in) this is important for dry Brazilian rice

  • Step 2: Add tomatoes then stir once or twice

  • Step 3: Remove from the heat.

  • Step 4: Add in 2 cups boiling water combined with salt. Cover and cook on low for 20 minutes but do not stir (check to see if cooked if not add last cup of hot water). Return to heat

  • Step 5: When rice is done, remove lid and allow to steam. Serve warm
