  • 2 medium onions (cut in half vertically and then cut each half into 1/2-inch slivers)
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • Thyme, sprinkle of
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • Cayenne pepper, 2 shakes
  • Crushed red pepper, 2 shakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, for garnish
  • 1 pound linguine pasta (cooked)

How to Make

  • Step 1: While the water is boiling for the pasta, saute the onions in olive oil over medium heat until transparent.

  • Step 2: Add the garlic and saute.

  • Step 3: Add spices; cover and simmer while pasta is cooking.

  • Step 4: When pasta is ready, strain pasta, but leave some water.

  • Step 5: Mix 1/3 of onions and garlic with pasta.

  • Step 6: Put pasta in bowls and add onion mixture to top.

  • Step 7: Season with Parmesan cheese.
