  • 2 potatoes, thinly sliced (large, peeled)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/16 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/16 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ounce gruyere cheese (cut in slices)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter and add garlic to saucepan

  • Step 2: Saute on low until pale golden color,dont brown

  • Step 3: Pour in cream simmer dont boil

  • Step 4: In pam sprayed buttered gratin dish

  • Step 5: Layer potatoes in even layers, seasoning as you go

  • Step 6: Pour warm cream over potatoes lifting so cream gets all the way through

  • Step 7: Dont overflow dish

  • Step 8: Place on baking sheet to catch overflow

  • Step 9: Bake at 350 for 30 minutes

  • Step 10: Place cheese on top and bake 15 minutes more

  • Step 11: Until browned and hot and bubbly

  • Step 12: Knife should slide easily into center
