The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup onions,chopped
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 can (20 ounce) beets (keep drained juice 1 cup)
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Boil cabbage in salted water for 10minutes

  • Step 2: Remove cabbage with slotted spoon

  • Step 3: Reserve water

  • Step 4: Saute onions in butter until golden

  • Step 5: Puree onions cabbage and beets in food processor

  • Step 6: Combine cabbage water with broth and beet juice

  • Step 7: Add seasonings and vegetables

  • Step 8: Boil 10 minutes

  • Step 9: Add wine and lemon juice

  • Step 10: Serve add dollop of sour cream in center
