Step 1: Rinse salmon; pat dry. Place in a large zip-close bag.
Step 2: Mix green onions, garlic, jalapeno, sugar, thyme, spices, salt, soy sauce, 4 tablespoons olive oil and lime juice.
Step 3: Pour over salmon and seal bag; turn bag over to evenly coat salmon. Marinate 2-4 hours.
Step 4: Preheat oven to 400°F. Heat remaining oil over high heat in an ovenproof skillet.
Step 5: Sear salmon on one side about 1 minute.
Step 6: Flip and cook until pale pink, about 1 more minute.
Step 7: Transfer skillet to oven; bake 6-8 minutes, until salmon flakes easily (145°F internal temperature).
Step 8: Allow salmon to rest 3 to 5 minutes.
