Ingredients

  • 1 cup sorghum
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoons dried ginger
  • 2 eggs,beaten
  • 4 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoons baking soda
  • 5 cups flour,said enough flour to make stiff dough so add cup at a time

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat in double boiler the lard molasses sugar and ginger

  • Step 2: Cool down

  • Step 3: Beat the eggs sour cream and vanilla together in large bowl

  • Step 4: Add molasses mixture add baking soda and 1 cup flour sifted together

  • Step 5: Then add flour cup at a time to get stiff dough

  • Step 6: Chill

  • Step 7: Roll out on floured board 1/8 inch

  • Step 8: Cut into shapes

  • Step 9: Bake on greased cookie sheet for 8 minutes in hot oven 425 degrees
