Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 baked (7 1/2 ounce) pie crust ( (9" crust, cooled)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter baking chips
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 ounces chocolate covered peanuts (chopped)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Whisk sugars, flour, cornstarch and salt in saucepan. Add milk gradually, then chips. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and thickens.

  • Step 2: Reduce heat and cook, stirring 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat.

  • Step 3: Beat egg yolks lightly in a small bowl. Stir 1 cup hot mixture slowly into yolks, mixing thoroughly. Return mixture to saucepan. Bring to a boil, cook and stir over low heat 2 more minutes. Remove from heat.

  • Step 4: Stir in butter and vanilla, pour mixture into baked pie crust.

  • Step 5: Bake at 350° for 12 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate covered peanuts immediately. Cool to room temperature before serving.
