Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 small (4 ounce) yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 plum (8 ounces) tomatoes, thickly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil (or 1 teaspoon dried basil)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup evaporated milk (2%, I use plain 2% milk)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: In bottom lightly greased quish dish or pie plate, spread cheese.

  • Step 2: Layer onion, then tomato slices over cheese.

  • Step 3: Sprinkle basil over tomatoes.

  • Step 4: Beat together eggs with milk, salt and pepper.

  • Step 5: Slowly pour eggs mixture over tomato and onion mixture.

  • Step 6: Bake in preheated 350f degree oven for 35 to 30 minutes or intil filling is just set in the centre.
