  • 1 can (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple (undrained)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 package (6 ounce) orange gelatin
  • 2 cups buttermmilk
  • 1 container (8 ounce) frozen whipped topping (thawed
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In saucepan, combine pineapple and sugar, bring to a boil, stirring occassionally.

  • Step 2: When mixture boils, immediately add gelatin and stir until dissolved. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

  • Step 3: Stir in buttermilk. Chill until partially set, about an hour.

  • Step 4: Fold in whipped topping, and nuts if desired.

  • Step 5: If necessary, chill until mixture mounds slightly. Then pour into a lightly oiled 8 1/2 cup mold and chill overnight.
