Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 tablespoons bacon grease
  • 1 onion, sliced thinly, large
  • 426 grams sauerkraut (drained, 3 cups)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups wide egg noodles (cooked ,drained )
  • 1 pound pork sausage (ground)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Grease the 9x13 casserole with butter

  • Step 2: In saucepan melt bacon grease and cook onions until soft

  • Step 3: Add sauerkraut and toss

  • Step 4: Add to casserole 1/2 at time

  • Step 5: Add layer of noodles season. Repeat

  • Step 6: Top with 8 cakes of sausage over the top

  • Step 7: Bake covered 45 minutes at 375 degrees

  • Step 8: Uncover bake 15 minutes more until hot and bubbly and lightly browned
