Ingredients

  • 23 pound whole turkey
  • 1/2 cup butter, for rubbing
  • 1 cup butter, melted (for basting)
  • 1 cup port wine
  • 1 bouquet garni
  • 12 ounces sliced bacon (12 strips)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

  • Step 2: Stuff Turkey with your kind of Stuffing

  • Step 3: Rub Turkey with butter

  • Step 4: Flip Turkey upside down

  • Step 5: Baste completely with butter and port mixed together

  • Step 6: Top with bacon strips

  • Step 7: Tent loosely with tin foil . Roast

  • Step 8: After 30 minutes reduce heat to 325 degrees and baste every 30 minutes with port and juices from Turkey

  • Step 9: 1 hour from being done flip over and allow to brown allow 20 minutes for every pound

  • Step 10: Let set 30 minutes rented before carving
