Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 500 grams potato gnocchi (fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (vegetable)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and grated
  • 2 teaspoon Tuscan seasoning
  • 500 gram pasta sauce (jar, tomato)
  • 1 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • Mixed salad leaves, to serve

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook, gnocchi according to packet directions and drain once cooked.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile, heat oil in a stockpot over a medium to high heat and add onion and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and then add beef, carrot and seasoning and cook, stirring to break up mince, for about 5 minute or until browned.

  • Step 3: Add the sauce and bring to boil and then remove from heat and transfer mixture to a large, ovenproof dish (10 cup capacity) and top with gnocchi and sprinkle with cheese and cook in a hot oven (220C) for about 10 minutes or until cheese is golden brown and serve with salad leaves.

  • Step 4: TIP fresh gnocchi is available from the refrigerator section of major supermarkets
