Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (12 ounces) dry egg noodles (wide noodles/340 grams, see my note)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 16 ounces cottage cheese (2 cups creamed cottage cheese)
  • 16 ounces sour cream (2 cups full-fat)
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted and slightly cooled - salted or unsalted -no subs use only butter!)
  • 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (if your a cinnamon lover add 2 tsps)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (add only if using salted butter)
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins (or to your taste)
  • Granulated sugar
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Adjust oven rack to second-lowest position. Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a 9 x 13-inch baking dish (DO NOT use cooking spray!). Prepare a large cookie sheet (to catch any spills).

  • Step 2: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add in noodles; cook noodles according to package directions but under cook slightly. Drain rinse under very cold water, then drain well again. Add to a large bowl.

  • Step 3: In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar together until very smooth and well combined. Whisk in sour cream until smooth, then add in slightly cooled melted butter, salt and cinnamon mixing until well combined.

  • Step 4: Pour liquid mixture over noodles. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, combine all together very well. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish then smooth top. Place baking dish onto a baking sheet to catch any spills.

  • Step 5: Sprinkle top generously with granulated sugar.

  • Step 6: Bake until top is just golden and pudding is set, about 1 hour (I prefer a softer kugel so I only baked mine for 50 mins)

  • Step 7: Remove and allow to sit 10 minutes. Cut into squares. Enjoy!

  • NOTE: - I used Manischewitz brand egg noodles because I like this brand the best for recipes calling for egg noodles, I suggest to use a good brand not all egg noodles are the same in flavor and texture, also I recommend not to use more than 12 ounces dry noodles. Please use only butter, using margarine will lessen the flavor
