Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • FOR CAKE
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup oil (vegetable oil)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup water, boiling
  • FOR FROSTING:
  • 3 cups powder sugar
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup milk (or slightly more)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Stir together dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  • Step 2: Add beaten eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, stirring until well combined. Add boiling water and stir until incorporated. Batter should be thin at this point!

  • Step 3: Pour into greased cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

  • Step 4: Cool before frosting.

  • Step 5: TO MAKE FROSTING: Stir together all frosting ingredients in a bowl until creamy and spreadable. Spread on cooled cake and smooth with table knife or frosting spreader.
