Step 2: Add water to cover. Bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes. Until shells open
Step 3: Stain through fine mesh sieve
Step 4: Keep water
Step 5: Take clams out of shells. Chop
Step 6: In large saucepan melt butter, add bacon or salt pork if you have some. Cook 3 minutes. Add onions. Cook 10 minutes don't brown
Step 7: Add potatoes cook 1 minute
Step 8: Add broth. Bring to a boil
Step 9: Boil 8 minutes until potatoes are just tender
Step 10: Add clams, cook 3 more minutes. Take of heat and add milk and cream
