Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds clams (little neck clams ,in shells,1 cup shucked )
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 ounces bacon, cubed
  • 1 onion, minced (large onion)
  • 2 potatoes, diced (large, peeled)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup milk, warm
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Scrub clams. Place in deep saucepan

  • Step 2: Add water to cover. Bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes. Until shells open

  • Step 3: Stain through fine mesh sieve

  • Step 4: Keep water

  • Step 5: Take clams out of shells. Chop

  • Step 6: In large saucepan melt butter, add bacon or salt pork if you have some. Cook 3 minutes. Add onions. Cook 10 minutes don't brown

  • Step 7: Add potatoes cook 1 minute

  • Step 8: Add broth. Bring to a boil

  • Step 9: Boil 8 minutes until potatoes are just tender

  • Step 10: Add clams, cook 3 more minutes. Take of heat and add milk and cream
