  • 2 pounds extra lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (3 ounce) diced green chiles (drained)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • FOR SEASONING
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 3 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • FOR ASSEMBLING
  • Flour or corn tortillas
  • Sour cream
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Shredded cheese
  • Hot sauce

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat pan over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil.

  • Step 2: Add onions and cook 5 minutes, until soft.

  • Step 3: Add beef and increase heat to med-hi. Brown, breaking into smaller pieces as it cooks.

  • Step 4: Once meat is brown, add garlic and cook another minute.

  • Step 5: Drain grease and transfer to slow cooker.

  • Step 6: Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine.

  • Step 7: Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours, or HIGH for 3-4 hours.
