Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 500 grams ground beef (beef mince)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon steak sauce (Fountain brand recommended)
  • 1/2 tablespoon mustard (sauce or mustard powder)
  • 1 yellow onion, grated (small onion)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Sea-salt flakes
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 slices (120 grams) cheddar cheese (or Jarlsberg cheese)
  • 4 (240 grams) brioche bread buns ( burger buns, toasted)
  • Mesclun salad leaves
  • 4 slices tomato
  • FOR CAPSICUM RELISH
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 22 grams red capsicum (1/2 pepper, diced)
  • 3/4 cup hot sauce (spicy red Fountain brand recommended)
  • Shoestring fries (to serve)

How to Make

  • Step 1: To make burgers, combine all burger ingredients and form into four patties.

  • Step 2: To make capsicum relish, heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and saute onion and then add red capsicum and cook until soft and stir in spicy red sauce and simmer until thickened.

  • Step 3: Grill burgers on barbecue grill plate until cooked to your liking.

  • Step 4: Top each burger with a piece of sliced cheddar or Jarlsberg.

  • Step 5: Place burgers on brioche buns and top with lettuce, tomato and spicy red sauce or capsicum relish and serve with shoestring fries if you wish.
