Step 1: To make meatballs combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
Step 2: Roll two level tablespoons of mixture into balls (you should have 16 meatballs)
Step 3: Heat oil in a large frying pan over a medium to high heat and add meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until browned all over and then transfer balls to a large bowl and add sauce and stir to coat.
Step 4: Cut baguettes into slices and discard the ends and arrange an oven tray lined with baking paper and top with meatballs and sprinkle with cheese and cook in a moderately hot oven (190C) for about 15 minutes, or until bread is crisp.
