Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin light flavoured oil)
  • 1 red onion, finely diced
  • 500 grams ground turkey
  • 2 teaspoon ginger root (finely grated)
  • 2 tablespoons kecap manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce)
  • 3 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 packs (450 gram) cooked brown rice (microwave steamed)
  • 1/3 cup coriander leaves (roughly chopped, plus extra to serve)
  • 1 carrot, cut into matchsticks
  • 26 gram radish (4 small radish, trimmed and thinly sliced)
  • 2 cups watercress (sprigs)
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/4 cup pickled ginger
  • TO SERVE
  • Black sesame seeds
  • Lime wedges
  • Red chilli
  • Spring onion

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat and add onion and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until softened and then add the mince and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to break up any lumps, for 5 minutes or until browned and then stir in ginger, kecap manis and sesame oil and cook for 1 minute.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile, heat rice following packet directions, then move to a large bowl and add coriander leaves and stir and then divide between 6 wide shallow serving bowls and top with turkey mince and remaining ingredients in separate piles.

  • Step 3: Serve immediately garnished with sesame, lime, chilli and spring onion.
