  • 2 pounds stewing beef (beef stew meat, chopped, small)
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 2 yellow onions, chopped
  • 200 grams beets, chopped (4 beets)
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 can (28 ounce) tomatoes
  • 6 lemons, juiced
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • Basil, pinch
  • Salt, dash
  • Pepper, dash

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook meat, water and beef for 1 hour.

  • Step 2: Add rest of the ingredients, start low on lemon juice you can add more if you wish.

  • Step 3: Simmer low for 4 hours until everything is tender.

  • Step 4: You may need to add more water.

  • Step 5: Before serving remove bone and serve.
