The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds stewing beef (chopped smallish)
  • 2 yellow onions (large, chopped)
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 potatoes, diced (large, diced)
  • 1 head cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 can (15 ounces) beets (sliced, cut in strips)
  • 6 cups beef stock
  • 1 can (8 ounce) tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 4 ounces sliced bacon (4 slices)
  • Salt, dash
  • Pepper, dash
  • Paprika, dash

How to Make

  • Step 1: Add minced bacon to hot stock pot, cook for a minute or two.

  • Step 2: Add beef, onions, spices and sauté until browned.

  • Step 4: Add beef stock, tomato sauce, beets with juice, and sugar .

  • Step 5: Simmer 75 minutes until tender.
