Step 1: Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
Step 2: Square off ends of potatoes and cut crosswise into 1 inch thick disks. Toss potatoes with the next 4 ingredients (-pepper) and then place them in a 13 x 9 inch baking dish in a single layer.
Step 3: Roast for 15 minutes and remove from oven and flip them over using a spatula and then return to oven and roast for another 15 minutes.
Step 4: Remove from oven and flip potatoes again and add the broth and garlic and roast for another 15 minutes. Baste with sauce before serving.
