  • 4 pound cabbage head (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoons caraway seed
  • Salt, dash
  • Pepper, dash
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place the cabbage in a stock pot.

  • Step 2: Add water, pepper, salt and caraway. Cool until tender.

  • Step 3: Add sugar and vinegar.

  • Step 4: In a skillet, add/heat the oil. Add in the onion, then fry until browned.

  • Step 5: Add flour to skillet and cook mixing with the cabbage.

  • Step 6: Cook until thickened, tasting and adding more sugar or vinegar if needed.
