The ingredients are:
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons brandy (apricot)
  • 1 cup walnuts, coarsely ground
  • 3/4 cup walnuts, finely ground
  • FOR COOKIE SHEET
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 275 degrees.

  • Step 2: In small bowl mix coarsely ground walnuts with brandy and vanilla. Stirto distribute the liquids

  • Step 3: In a mixing bowl beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.

  • Step 4: Gradually sift powdered sugar into egg whites, while continuing to beat egg whites.

  • Step 5: While still beating gradually add in vinegar.

  • Step 6: Gently fold in walnut mixture.

  • Step 7: Grease cookie sheet with butter and dust with cornstarch.

  • Step 8: Use a tablespoon of dough and form into kisses shape.

  • Step 9: Sprinkle with fine ground walnuts.

  • Step 10: Bake in over 25 to 30 minutes.

  • Step 11: Cookies should be firm and slightly browning.

  • Step 12: Remove from oven and place individual cookies on cooling rack.
