Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 356 grams dry lima beans (soaked over night, 2 cups)
  • 6 cups chicken stock
  • 520 grams potatoes (3 potatoes, peeled then diced)
  • 1 yellow onion (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 ounces bacon (diced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1 bay leaf
  • FOR ROUX
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Add everything but the roux to a stock pot. Cook/simmer for 2 1/2 hours on low heat.

  • Step 2: The last 1/2 hour, combine together, the milk, sour cream and flour. Stir into soup. Cool down and allow to thicken.

  • Step 3: Lastly, stir in vinegar to taste.
