Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 yellow onion (small onion, minced)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3/4 cup bread crumbs (extra-fine)
  • 1 large egg (well beaten)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 tablespoon parsley (fresh, finely chopped)
  • Oil (for frying)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a skillet, saute onion in the butter until onion is transparent. Stir in the chile powder and set aside.

  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine remainder of ingredients along with the onion/chile powder mixture. Mix well.

  • Step 3: Wipe the skillet clean and heat oil for frying.

  • Step 4: Form little balls the size of your thumbnail (about 65-75) and cook in oil until well browned. Transfer to chafing dish and keep warm until serving.
