Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 can (8 ounce) crescent dough sheet (Pillsbury brand)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion (small onion, minced)
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons dried parley
  • 1/4 cup raisins (soaked in hot water till plump)
  • 1can (8 ounce) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup almonds (blanched toasted chopped)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a skillet, heat the oil then add the onions and ground beef. Saute until ground beef is cooked. Drain beef of grease.

  • Step 2: On a jelly roll pan, unroll the crescent dough sheet. Place pan so rectangle shape long ends are to your left and right.

  • Step 3: Stir in the remaining ingredients into the ground beef mixture. Simmer for 5 minutes until hot.

  • Step 4: Spoon ground beef mixture onto right 1/4 side of dough sheet leaving 1 inch at top and bottom of mixture. Fold the 1 inch of dough sheet at top and bottom inward and then starting on the filling end roll into a jelly roll shape.

  • Step 5: Bake in an oven at 375F for 10-13 minutes. The crust should be golden brown. Remove and allow to cool on wire rack for 4 minutes.

  • Step 6: Slice into 8 rounds and serve with salsa.
