Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 600 grams lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 2 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 can (400 gram) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6 sheets (75 grams) filo pastry
  • Cooking oil spray
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (to sprinkle)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat a non-stick frying pan over high heat and brown mince for 5 minutes, breaking up large lumps with a spoon and then add curry powder and cook for 1 minute and then add frozen vegetables, tomatoes and water and bring to the boil and then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10minutes or until thickened slightly and then season to taste and spoon mixture into a greased shallow 2 litre ovenproof dish.

  • Step 2: Spray sheets of filo pastry with oil and scrunch each sheet and place over mince to cover and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  • Step 3: Bake at 200C (180C fan forced) for 20 to 25 minutes or until pastry is golden and serve with a side salad.
