  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips (vanilla chips)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries or cranberries

How to Make

  • Step 1: Line an 8 inch square pan with foil, grease foil.

  • Step 2: Mix sugar and milk in a heavy saucepan.

  • Step 3: Add butter and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

  • Step 4: Without stirring, boil vigorously for 5 minutes.

  • Step 5: Remove from heat.

  • Step 6: Add chips and vanilla.

  • Step 7: Stir, then whisk until chips melt and mixture is smooth.

  • Step 8: Stir in almonds and cherries; spread in prepared pan.

  • Step 9: Refrigerate 6 hours, until firm.

  • Step 10: Invert pan, peel off foil and cut into 1 inch squares.
