  • 1 ripe (240 gram) plantain (skin should be black)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar ( white or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

How to Make

  • Step 1: Score the skin of a very ripe plantain, then peel and cut into slices at an angle.

  • Step 2: Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Step 3: Place plantain slices in skillet. Cook until lightly brown, then flip slices over and brown second side.

  • Step 4: When plantains seem soft and almost done, then sprinkle with sugar and then flip one more time. Sprinkle tops with cinnamon. Cook 1 more minute, remove and serve.
