  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a 2 qt saucepan, whisk together sugar and cornstarch until well blended. Whisk in milk until cornstarch is dissolved.

  • Step 2: Coarsely chop the chocolate with a large knife or in a food processor, then add to saucepan.

  • Step 3: Cook over medium to medium-high heat, whisking constantly, until the mixture boils and thickens, and the chocolate is melted and smooth. This should take about 5-7 minutes total heating time.

  • Step 4: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into 4 dessert size dishes.

  • Step 5: Serve warm or refrigerate until cold.
